At Steelfort weve been proudly building innovation into outdoor power equipment and engineering solutions in New Zealand for more than 79 years. With a nationwide dealer network and strong local roots were growing and looking for a Purchasing Assistant to join our team.

As our Purchasing Assistant youll be right at the heart of our procurement and supply chain operations. Youll support the smooth flow of orders maintain accurate supplier and inventory records and keep our systems up to date so were always one step ahead of demand. From tracking shipments to coordinating with suppliers youll make sure the right products are in the right place at the right time.

Youll thrive in this role if youre someone who:

Loves being organised and can keep multiple tasks moving at once.
Has a sharp eye for detail accuracy is second nature to you.
Enjoys talking with people whether its suppliers teammates or other parts of the business.
Can pick up systems quickly and feel confident navigating databases portals and online tools.
Takes initiative when something needs fixing following up until its sorted.

You might already have some experience in purchasing inventory or supply chain or you might be earlier in your career but eager to learn and grow with us. Either way youre the type of person whos proactive curious and happy to roll up your sleeves to support the wider team when needed.

This is a full-time permanent role based in Palmerston North.
