Linux Systems Administrator / Engineer Routemaster Team
The Routemaster team is seeking a highly skilled Linux Systems Administrator / Engineer to lead the support of our Linux systems in virtualized environments including AWS and MASH. This is a critical hands-on role where you will serve as the primary administrator for all Linux development and production systems ensuring their security reliability and performance.
Were looking for a self-starter who is well organized thrives in both independent and collaborative environments and can communicate effectively with team members and customers. Youll own the full lifecycle of system administration tasksranging from updates patching and monitoring to troubleshooting complex issueswhile also contributing to system and process documentation.
Experience with AWS system deployment and management is highly desirable as youll help shape the future of our infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities & Desired Skills:
Deploying and managing systems in MASH and AWS environments
Understanding of customer STE/STN requirements
Applying IAVA patching and security updates to Linux systems
Creating and applying server certificates
Strong grasp of networking fundamentals (DNS IP configurations public/private networks protocols)
Installing and configuring software such as Wildfly MySQL and Java on Linux platforms
Monitoring and maintaining system health to proactively resolve issues and minimize downtime
Organized independent and proactive in both execution and documentation
This role offers the opportunity to be the go-to Linux expert on a mission-driven team directly shaping the stability and security of critical systems.
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience as a Systems Administrator (SA) on programs of similar scope type and complexity
- Bachelors degree in a technical discipline from an accredited institution. May substitute an additional 5 years of SA experience in lieu of degree.
- DOD 8570 certification (Security preferred)
- Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph

Target Salary Range
$112000 - $179000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position the individuals experience education knowledge skills and competencies as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position employees may be eligible for overtime shift differential and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
