Mission:
The mission of the LSBPNE is to protect the health safety and welfare of the public by providing reasonable assurance that persons who practice practical nursing are competent ethical practitioners with the necessary knowledge skills and abilities appropriate to the title and role of the licensed practical nurse.
About this position:- Provide statewide administration of all the practical nursing programs to ensure compliance with the legal standards of the Louisiana State Board of Practical Nurse Examiners.
- Coordinates and leads site visits. Document findings and write commendations and recommendations according to established guidelines.
- Determine compliance with Louisianas Administrative Code provide evaluations and recommendations as applicable for Board review
NOTE: Only Current Classified employees of the LA State Board of Practical Nurse Examiners will be consideredMinimum Qualifications
Possession of a current Louisiana Registered Nurse license or a temporary permit or multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state to practice as a registered nurse plus one of the following:
Five years of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR
A bachelors degree in nursing plus four years of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR
A masters degree in nursing or public health plus four years of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR
A doctorate in nursing or public health plus three years of experience as a licensed registered nurse.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
Maintain thorough records that facilitate the storage and retrieval of information.
Provide information on practical nursing education and/or programs as requested.
Speak to groups on practical nursing programs.
Prepare reports with suggested actions for review and recommendation by the Board on nursing education matters.
Collaborates with public health program administrators and community partners to set goals and objectives for the implementation of programmatic policies and procedures.
Evaluate the effectiveness accessibility and quality of person and population-based services by the collection and maintenance of data.
Attends legislative meetings including the Health Work Commission Simulation Committee and Nursing Supply and Demand Committee.
Develop and maintain an annual schedule for surveillance of existing and developing education programs. Coordinate visits.

Travels statewide for consultation and site visits to conduct programmatic reviews and training review staff utilization practices standards of healthcare and adherence to programmatic policies and procedures. Develops implements and monitors programmatic Continuous Quality Improvement Plans.
