Patient Service Representatives (PSRs) are the foundation of MaineGeneral Health practices. They serve as advocates access specialists and coordinatorsmaking sure patients families and medical staff get the support they this role youll build meaningful relationships while guiding people through important moments in their lives.
Great PSRs come from many backgrounds from customer service and education to medical offices and retail. What matters most is empathy adaptability and a commitment to service.
Your days will be busy and rewarding: scheduling appointments gathering insurance information maintaining records and coordinating between patients and providers. This role calls for multitasking computer skills and clear communication.

Job Description:
In this role you will:
Greet patients answer phones and provide clerical support to clinical departments.
Schedule appointments using computerized scheduling programs.
Verify insurance benefits obtain authorizations as needed and collect required payments including co-pays or deductibles referring patients to financial counselors when appropriate.
Ensure that demographic billing and clinical information is collected and accurately entered into the registration system in a timely manner.
Facilitate communication between patients providers and departments such as the lab helping to keep care connected and seamless.
