Job Description

Applicants must meet qualifications at the time of hire.

  • To be considered for this role you must have a Master of Science in Nursing from a program with national accreditation.
  • Must have an active unencumbered license to practice as a registered nurse in Colorado or ability to obtain by date of hire.
  • Two (2) years of full-time or equivalent professional nursing clinical experience is required.
  • Previous teaching experience in undergraduate nursing program or adult learning environments is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with clinical partners colleagues and students with a wide range of skill levels is preferred.
  • Ability to use collaborative learning techniques and student-centered methods of instruction is preferred.
  • Previous experience with curriculum development and evaluation is preferred.
  • Previous experience with conducting online teaching is preferred.

Salary Range:$62000 - $65887 per academic year. Compensation will be commensurate upon experience and qualifications. This position is Exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) overtime provisions.

Summary

This is a full-time 9-month on-campus non-tenure-track appointment at the Assistant Teaching Professor level with 80% teaching and 20% service work distribution in the Department of Nursing. This position is expected to teach 24 credit hours per academic year and includes responsibilities in the undergraduate programs; advise students; and conduct classroom clinical and online teaching. Faculty also participate in both internal and external professional service activities and demonstrate collaborative interests and collegiality in all aspects of faculty engagement. The position includes classroom online laboratory/simulation and general clinical teaching in but not limited to adult health addition to the 9-month academic year the faculty has an opportunity to teach these courses during the summer session for additional compensation.
