Job Summary

Position Summary
The Recovery Programs Coordinator will provide strategic vision development implementation and evaluation of evidence based collegiate recovery initiatives services and outreach efforts as well as other well-being related programs. These efforts are delivered within the context of our Dimensions of Wellness as well as holistic wellness and health promotion endeavors often working with intersecting topics such as stress reduction mindfulness sleep health nutrition healthy relationships alcohol and other drug & violence prevention and other related student health and well-being indicators. The Coordinator will also provide individual support for students and families in or seeking recovery.

Required Qualifications Competencies And Experience
* Ability to work in a dynamic multidisciplinary team oriented and highly collaborative workspace environment. * Understanding of and/or experience within a recovery community (12-step SMART Refuge Self-defined etc.). * Demonstrated commitment to supporting of multiple pathways of recovery (including abstinent based harm reduction medication supported use management and other individualized approaches). * In depth understanding of the interconnectedness of recovery prevention harm reduction and treatment in supporting individuals overall well-being. * Strong coaching and advising skills with a positive optimistic perspective and a motivational inspirational and encouraging approach. * Experience implementing group and/or population based educational trainings and interventions.

Preferred Qualifications Competencies And Experience
* Masters degree in social work psychology counseling higher education or a related skills transferable field as well as updated certifications and licenses as appropriate to field of study/discipline. * Peer Support Certification or a willingness to pursue * One (1) or more years of related progressively responsible program development and/or student support efforts experience preferably within a higher education environment. Two years of related graduate experience will be considered as one full year of experience. * Prior experience running recovery and substance related groups a plus. * Previous work with established collegiate recovery communities. * Understanding/passion for promoting holistic wellness as model for engaging students in recovery. * Ability to practice problem-solving skills in analyzing health and wellness needs of emerging adults especially high-achieving college students. * Ability to work independently and exercise critical and analytical thinking skills to address student and developing staff needs. * Strong Multi-tasking project management assessment report writing and social media/communications skills. * Experience with engaging diverse collegiate student populations community organizing and/or community building. * Experience in stigma reduction messaging and campaign development.
