Role Description
The Technical Advisor position will be delivering services and support to customers and Kongsberg Maritimes global support network. This includes travelling to customers providing technical support remote assistance creating technical documentation supporting upgrade designs and offering technical sales support on the following Kongsberg products:

  • K-Chief and Acon integrated automation and alarm systems (IAS)
  • Bridge systems
  • Tanksounding systems
  • Switchboards and starters
  • LNG fuel systems


Effectiveness in this role involves collaborating well with both customers and colleagues as good support if a team effort. This position requires the ability to travel worldwide on a regular basis.

What you will be doing

  • In field provide service troubleshooting and upgrades of existing equipment
  • Identification of sales and upgrade opportunities
  • Support to Project Field Service and Spare part sales
  • Suggest and implement improvements to products and services
  • In office prepare technical support including Remote Support and in-house service activities to vessels worldwide
  • Close cooperation with other departments for supporting integrated solutions
  • Maintaining internal and external guidelines for solving technical issues

We think you should have

  • Experience with ship systems preferably automation systems
  • Skilled worker or bachelors degree in relevant topics like automation IT computer science electrical or equivalent
  • Experience with ship systems
  • Fluent English and Norwegian language
  • Comfortably using IT tools as an integral part of daily work
  • Demonstrate strong customer focus understanding and communication skills.
  • Analyze complex issues and problems and come up with rational judgments
  • Engagement creativity and the ability to work independently
