CNC Supervisor
Location: Newry Northern Ireland
Salary: 18 per hour
Hours: Monday Friday normal dayshift (40 hours per week)
Contract: Full-time Permanent
We are seeking an experienced CNC Workshop Supervisor to lead and support a team of machinists in a busy precision engineering environment. The successful candidate will combine hands-on machining expertise with proven leadership skills to deliver high-quality output in a timely and cost-effective manner ensuring satisfaction for both internal and external customers.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervise machinists to ensure daily tasks are completed efficiently and to specification
- Mentor train and upskill machinists at all levels within the team
- Operate CNC mills and lathes delivering machining operations in an efficient and timely manner
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to increase workshop productivity and efficiency
- Maintain daily capacity plans and ensure production schedules are met
- Accurately complete time sheets computer logs and registers ensuring team compliance
- Implement and monitor Health & Safety policies ensuring correct PPE is worn at all times
- Liaise across departments to ensure smooth workflow and collaboration
Key Requirements
- Proven supervisory experience in a similar machining environment
- Time-served machinist/toolmaker background
- Strong understanding of machine shop safety requirements
- Ability to follow logical workflows and use own initiative
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to plan organise and liaise across departments
- Experience working with a wide range of materials including brass aluminium stainless steel tool steel and nylon
