We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Tax Manager to oversee all tax-related functions. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with international federal state and local tax regulations optimizing tax strategies and managing tax-related risks.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Stand up tax function for a newly created Events Group including but not limited to:
Tax Compliance and Reporting:
Ensure compliance with all international federal state and local tax laws and regulations.
Manage tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities.
Oversight of the preparation and submission of accurate and timely tax returns including corporate income tax VAT/GST sales tax 1099 & 1042 reporting and other relevant taxes across multiple jurisdictions.
Tax Planning and Strategy:
Develop and implement effective tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and optimize tax positions.
Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the company.
Provide strategic tax advice to other business functions including reviewing revenue contracts for tax implications and input into stage-gate process.
Risk Management:
Identify and mitigate tax-related risks.
Implement and maintain robust tax control frameworks and processes.
Conduct regular tax risk assessments and develop action plans to address identified risks.
Financial Reporting:
Ensure accurate tax accounting for Group Financial Statements under US GAAP.
Ensure accurate tax accounting and reporting in local statutory financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting for subsidiaries
Alongside Financial Controller ensure the accuracy of VAT workpapers. Collaborate with the finance team to ensure proper documentation and reconciliation of tax accounts.
Forecast tax liabilities including tax provision for the Group and cashflow implications.
Advise and help implement Transfer Pricing Policy
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with internal stakeholders including finance legal and operations teams to provide tax-related guidance and support.
Liaise with tax advisors in other jurisdictions as necessary.
Develop and deliver tax training sessions for relevant staff.
Assist HR with payroll tax; where .
Unusual Challenges or Circumstances e.g. shift(s)/ unsocial hours/ travel etc
Some travel may be expected.
Knowledge and Experience
Demonstrable and relevant post qualification experience including working in an in-house tax function
Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Taxation or a related field; CPA or equivalent qualification preferred.
Excellent knowledge of international tax accounting & tax compliance
Strong international experience e.g. Transfer Pricing WHT Permanent Establishments BEPSrelated issues etc
Strong understanding of tax accounting principles and financial reporting.
Proven experience in tax planning compliance and risk management.
Excellent analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
High level of integrity attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
Per local requirements and in the interest of transparency the hourly rate shown below reflects the prevalent current hiring range for this position. Hiring pay rates are based on a number of factors including location and may vary depending on job-related qualifications knowledge skills and experience. Hiring Rate Minimum:
$135000 annually (minimum will not fall below the applicable state/local minimum salary thresholds)Hiring Rate Maximum:
