Primary Purpose:
Improves the safety and security of assigned campuses by supporting resource and process development data/information tracking and monitoring compliance with District standards.
Education / Certification:
1. Bachelors degree from an accredited University preferred.
2. Military law enforcement emergency management and/or school leadership experience preferred.
Special Knowledge / Skills:
1. Demonstrated communication skills both written and oral.
2. Demonstrated organizational skills.
3. Demonstrated proficiency in technology and computer applications including Microsoft Office and Google.
4. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others.
5. Knowledge of school safety and security practices.

7. Respond to emergency situations during and after standard operating hours for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.

Major Responsibilities and Duties
1. Research best practices in various areas pertaining to school safety and provide feedback to safety and security staff for potential program revision.
2. Support and implement staff development programs consistent with the District safety program and standards.
3. Conduct and coordinate safety security and emergency preparedness training by developing scheduling and/or facilitating training for staff students and public safety officials relating to school safety security and emergency preparedness training.
4. Conduct safety security and emergency preparedness and vulnerability assessment on all school and support facilities.
5. Integrate best practice security input and specifications into all new building design and remodel construction.
6. Monitor district feedback tools: 911 calls anonymous alerts gaggle etc.
7. Provide drill support to the schools from the school command post.
8. Facilitate effective After-Action Reviews after all real-world incidents and drills.
9. Provide input to the District incident tracker; conduct trend and predictive analysis and apply to future strategy tactics techniques and procedures.
10. Work closely with the districts Director of Security school leaders staff and students to ensure best practices and lessons learned are implemented in the schools and in accordance with the standards outlined in law the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and the Texas School Safety Center (TSSC.)
11. Provide input with the districts Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) to ensure that it is relevant complete and executable.
12. Provide individualized guidance assistance and ongoing support to campuses.
13. Consult frequently with District safety staff and campuses on matters related to safety.
14. Assist building principals and other administrators and/or supervisors in implementing District safety program.
15. Conduct follow-ups with campuses to address gaps in planning and safety programming.
16. Assist in the evaluation of ongoing safety programs and make recommendations for changes.
17. Observe and provide feedback on District safety practices including drills exercises and other similar activities at assigned campuses.
18. Analyze data and feedback from safety programs with attention to detail in order to identify areas for improvement and non-compliance.
19. Support both the Security Operation Center (SOC) and the Emergency Operations Center (EOC.)
20. Perform disaster duty when needed.
21. Perform other duties and accepts other responsibilities as assigned.
