RevitAutoCAD Drafter

The Furniture Designer is a member of our Laboratory Design Project team that has cross-functional collaboration to develop and implement the Furniture growth strategy based on operational effectiveness process excellence and profitability.

This designer will assist in creating accurate and quality designs directly with sales estimation external suppliers and customers. This individual will act as a communication conduit between sales and internal cross-functional teams. This will drive the business units growth strategy using 3D REVIT/2D AutoCAD technical plans to ensure the customers design and bill of materials is accurate to the highest level.

This role is accountable for Laboratory Design of new & renovation projects of medium complexity up to $500k in this role you will act as a source within the team to deliver accurate and technical expertise into customer designs and proposals. The work performed will adhere to standards of work on-time completion dates and customer satisfaction.

This is a hybrid position requiring 2 - 3 days in the Dallas TX office.

What were looking for:

• Education: Bachelors degree in Interior Design Architecture or Engineering is highly preferred.

• Experience: 2 years in drafting/design role with a high-volume organization preferred.

• Proficient with Revit and AutoCAD required.

• Experience working on lab renovations or new construction is highly preferred.

• Experience with metal casework is a plus.

• Experience with 2020 SAP and/or C4C is a plus.

• Experience with Bluebeam is a plus.

• A combination of education and work experience will also be considered in lieu of degree.

Who you are:

• Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Able to read and understand specifications construction documents and architectural drawings.

• Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.

• High level of motivation and problem-solving.

• Excellent organizational skills.

• Good mathematical skills.

How you will create an impact:

• Create multiple view 3D and 2D drawings with accurate details section views and dimensions for shop fabrication and installation in Revit and/or AutoCAD.

• Revise drawings in accordance with marked-up prints sketches written or verbal instructions provided by other team members.

• Create bill of materials and change order lists to communicate job requirements that ensure order accuracy.

• Collaborate within the team to understand the project requirements and bring forward recommendations.

• Coordinate drawings with architects engineers and other consultants as needed.

• Research and obtain specifications/details from vendors for custom items as required.

• Provide technical support to internal customers.

• Lead space planning layout and utilization of furnishings both new and existing using understanding for value engineering and furniture supply chain program.

• Adhere to schedules and adapt to changes as needed.

• Accountable for accuracy of design and take-off for technical and process standards.

• Display a strong sense of urgency in responding to colleagues.

• Maintain knowledge of lab furniture market supplier base and SEFA laboratory standards.
