DescriptionAs the Global Indirect Tax Manager youll deliver a full range of tax planning consulting and compliance services for your multiple clients all with the resources environment and support to help you excel. Youll collaborate with the Global Indirect Tax team and lead staff on various tax matters on all phases of project and engagement management because together is how we succeed.
Your day-to-day may include:
- Manage direct and monitor multiple client services teams on client engagements; plan execute direct and complete tax projects in a wide variety of industries; provide tax planning consulting and compliance expertise to clients
- Manage develop train and mentor staff on tax projects and assess performance for engagement and year-end reviews
- Contribute to practice development through process improvements thought leadership and team collaboration.
- Develop and deliver project proposals including detailed workplans and fee quotes to prospective clients.
- Manage project budgets and financial administration including preparing invoices and monitoring/collecting outstanding accounts receivable.
- Serve as a US state and local Sales/Use Tax and related indirect taxes subject matter resource and contribute to the firms broader subject matter expert network.
- Manage and deliver a broad range of US State and Local Indirect Tax consulting services with a primary focus on Sales/Use Tax. Examples of relevant consulting services may include:
- Reverse audits (e.g. refund claims)
- Audit defense and controversy support
- Multi-state nexus analyses
- Researching state and local tax issues including taxability treatment preparing related technical memoranda and drafting client correspondence
- Exposure quantification and remediation planning
- Navigating the Registration and Voluntary Disclosure Agreement process across various states
- ASC 450 reviews
- Performing sales/use tax due diligence analyses
- Assisting with administrative and compliance aspects including occasionally preparing reviewing and/or filing clients sales/use tax returns and responding to inquiries from state taxing authorities.
- Other duties as assigned
You have the following technical skills and qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in accounting
- Minimum six years of progressive tax compliance and/or tax consulting
- CPA JD or Certified Member of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Managers are required to manage various project tasks at the same time
- Project managers will be ultimately responsible for the overall project and deliverable
- Support business development activities such as identification proposal development and other pursuit activities at clients
- Strong computer skills
- Can travel as needed
