We are seeking a Senior Rotating Parts Engineer to join the LEAP NPI High-Pressure Turbine (HPT) team focusing on leading the redesign of the entire rotor and designing mid-life upgrade HPT rotor hardware for the LEAP-1B program. This role involves spearheading technical analysis collaborating with Chief Engineers and mentoring younger engineers to ensure the delivery of safe reliable and high-quality solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in rotating parts design and analysis proficiency in engineering tools and a strong understanding of turbine rotor hardware and manufacturing processes. Additionally this individual will contribute to design reviews risk assessments and standard work documentation while fostering innovation and continuous improvement within the team.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Execute the design analysis or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards practices procedures and product / program requirements. This work would include mechanical and/or electrical engineering for all products
  • Developing specialized knowledge in their discipline. Serves as best practice/quality resource. Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area. Contributes towards strategy and policy development and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.
  • Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
  • Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management manufacturing technology or engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in design engineering
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas now or in the future for this job opening.

  • Masters degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.

  • Ability to document plan market and execute programs.
  • Established project management skills.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
