Job Summary: Provide preventative maintenance repair installation testing and calibration of production equipment throughout factory including facilities equipment. Trouble shooting of equipment problems with respect to mechanical and electrical areas down to individual component level. Perform routine periodic testing of equipment to ensure key components functioning properly. Work with engineers and production personnel to optimize equipment uptime. Keep and maintain records for equipment repair/preventive maintenance. Scheduling of preventive maintenance procedures and records. Perform minor facility repairs including plumbing and electrical.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
1) Preventive maintenance of equipment
60%
Preventive maintenance of equipment performed on time with no extensions.
Maintenance scheduling conflicts resolved without any interruption of production capacity.
Parts and supplies obtained prior to preventive maintenance due date.
Communication with production personnel to get feedback about equipment performance as well as to provide feedback about maintenance performed.
Seek help to complete the tasks if problems arise to complete the task on time.
Identify potential opportunities for better utilization of equipment and bring them to attention of area process engineers supervisors or operators for better performance.
Review of equipment maintenance history to update maintenance schedule periodically.
2) Repair of broken
equipment
10%
Respond to equipment break down right away with prompt attention.
Seek and find suppliers for spare parts required to fix broken equipment as fast as possible.
Hands on repair and maintenance of equipment with operator help in a safe manner.
Documentation of repairs clearly noted in maintenance records.
Quality repairing achieved with no repeated breaks of components initially failed.
3) Design and modification of production equipment for improvement
10%
Maintain maintenance shop facilities for design and implementation of new equipment for production.
Modification of production equipment for safe operation and productivity increase.
Installation of new equipment including taking it into operation and training of operators.
Coordinate with external/internal supplier to ensure equipment is working properly and all required spare parts are in maintenance stores.
4) Documentation and Business
10%
Preventive maintenance record keeping is maintained properly with just-in-time record keeping practice.
Department processes are reviewed/audited for continuous improvement cycle time and cost reduction opportunities
Department processes are ISO9001 compliant

5) Organize & Clean
5%
Personal work area along with common areas are kept clean neat and organized on a daily basis.
Follow safety rules without violations. Any safety concerns or issues are reported to supervisor.

Works with hazardous materials in accordance with department procedures.
6) Human Resources / Administrative
10%
A) An ESGP is co-developed and pursued.
Department information systems records reports and metrics are accurate and generated on time
Company policy is followed regarding all safety environmental and quality requirements.
Company Technology Control Plan IP protection and Export Compliance requirements are understood and properly followed.
Relevant IT and Quality procedures are understood and properly executed.
Responsible for maintaining a quality work environment.
Maintains a positive attitude and is cooperative in working with others.
Adapts readily to changes in work caused by new requirements and/or situations.

10) Special Assignments

Attend all meetings and training as required.
Support special projects as required.
Report on projects and make recommendations to upper Management.

Working Conditions
Somewhat undesirable working conditions. Exposed to noise dust heat oil or other elements but not continuously.
Physical Requirements
Flow of work and type of duties involve constant normal mental and visual demand along with manual coordination for over 50% of the time.
Safety Requirements
All employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp. Corporate EHS standards.
