Reporting to the Director Capacity Access & Flow (Emergency Management/Capacity) the Lead is responsible for planning and policy development related to emergency management including COVID-19 response. This role involves providing expert advice collaborating with teams across Strategy System Planning Design & Implementation Clinical Services and Health Equity.
The position is regional focusing on North Region needs.
Here is what you will be doing:
Lead development of emergency management tools reporting and training; provide expertise for North Region emergency management plan.
Support COVID-19 response activities including testing lab processing couriers and outbreak management.
Collaborate with System Strategy Planning Design and Implementation Teams and Health Equity team on emergency response coordination.
Analyze local healthcare systems using provincial data and community input to identify gaps and planning priorities.
Apply planning approaches such as predictive models and community input.
Promote high-quality research and planning methodologies.
Conduct stakeholder consultations assess planning impacts and build consensus.
Participate in provincial planning activities and stakeholder engagement.
Foster a culture of integration and coordination within Ontario Health North.
Advise on healthcare system funding plans from a planning perspective.
Manage project plans and budgets for planning and integration initiatives.
Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act and organizational policies.
Contribute to a culture of patient safety with respect accountability and open communication.
Support adherence to health service accountability agreements.
Coordinate regional initiatives to improve quality and patient safety.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Here is what you need to be successful:
Education and Experience
Post-secondary education in health administration health planning business administration or a related field with Masters level degree preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a health care environment.
5-8 years experience in a multi-stakeholder environment preferably in the health care industry.
Knowledge and Skills
Good knowledge of and proven ability to apply multiple planning and analysis methodologies and make effective recommendations.
Understanding of the current and changing dynamics of the Ontario health-care system and issues.
Experience with community care and hospital environment is an asset.
Understanding and experience with embedding quality improvement initiatives.
Demonstrated financial competence.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with other staff and to liaise with colleagues across Ontario Health and with contacts in the Ministry
Must be highly organized and able to thrive in a face paced environment with multiple priorities
Uses information to make informed decisions and provides advice; exercises high degree of independence and professional judgment in problem solving
Solid written and verbal communication skills. Internally communicates with colleagues throughout the organization to present discuss information and problems related to financial management and funding. Externally communicates directly with various stakeholders to monitor funding allocations and performance.
Strong attention to detail demonstrated integrity and professionalism with a solid understanding of financial controls.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills required.
Must be highly organized and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
