Job Description
Capital Ones People Technology Innovation Lab is hiring a new Manager to lead our dynamic team. What Youll Do
Lead and inspire:Manage a team of innovators providing coaching mentorship and career development to help them reach their full potential.
Drive an innovation culture:Plan and execute various ideation events like pitch competitions hackathons and innovation challenges to encourage new ideas and collaboration across the organization.
Champion emerging technologies:Oversee the development of innovative use cases using technologies such asGenerative AIKnowledge Graphs andmachine learning.
Leverage data as a strategic asset:Partner with data scientists and analysts to ensure data is a core component of all innovation efforts turning raw data into actionable insights and strategic products.
Manage the innovation pipeline:Facilitate the end-to-end innovation process from initial ideation and concept validation to prototyping and potential handoff for production.
Build key partnerships:Collaborate with leaders and teams across Capital Ones People Tech organization to identify pain points and opportunities for innovation.
Communicate and influence:Act as a thought leader communicating the value and impact of the teams work to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree
At least 6 years of experience in application development (Internship experience does not apply)
At least 2 years of experience in big data technologies
At least 1 year experience with cloud computing (AWS Microsoft Azure Google Cloud)
At least 4 years of people management experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters Degree
9 years of experience in application development including Python SQL Scala or Java
4 years of experience with a public cloud (AWS Microsoft Azure Google Cloud)
5 years experience with Distributed data/computing tools (MapReduce Hadoop Hive EMR Kafka Spark Gurobi or MySQL)
4 year experience working on real-time data and streaming applications
4 years of experience with NoSQL implementation (Mongo Cassandra)
4 years of data warehousing experience (Redshift or Snowflake)
4 years of experience with UNIX/Linux including basic commands and shell scripting
2 years of experience with Agile engineering practices
6 years of people management experience
2 years of experience in innovation management or working in an early-stage startup environment

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
Plano TX: $204900 - $233800 for Sr. Mgr Data EngineeringCandidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidates offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
