SUMMARY
The Aviation Data Resilience Manager is responsible for providing strategic leadership for Charlotte Douglas International Airport by implementing a department-wide data resiliency strategy and an IT disaster recovery planning to ensure compliant and effective technology methodologies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide strategic support to leadership by clearly aligning data resilience strategy and efforts to demonstrate strategic value and return on investment.
Build and foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to create a trusted space for collaboration and creative problem-solving with data resiliency and tools.
Develop and implement processes to improve insights maximize operational efficiency ensure quality and compliance and to appropriately apply advanced technology and techniques (e.g. Machine Learning Network Analysis and predictive analytics).
Supervise formal and informal teams that provide technical and functional support aligning technology and staff efforts to maximize value and streamline processes.
Collaborate with Emergency Management and Risk Management to develop an IT Disaster Recovery strategy to codify and solidify IT business continuity preparedness
Provide leadership to standardize data resiliency and processes across divisions to ensure compliance through effective alignment specifically around warehousing integrations preparation analysis and visualization.
Develop department-wide guidance and trainings around both large scale deployments and individual use of Artificial Intelligence to ensure safe integration and that it is used alongside high quality validated and secure data.
Create and lead cross-functional staff committee to prioritize airport-wide resiliency projects and initiatives to effectively implement staff- and/or vendor-led efforts and to promote an agile way of working
Develop airport-wide training (i.e. rotational program) that educates and empowers users and creates a strong linkage between teams that build a common understanding of resiliency across lifecycle.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides leadership direction and mentorship to multidisciplinary teams of technical and functional staff
Oversees day-to-day team operations ensuring alignment with team goals departmental priorities and technology standards.
Establishes clear performance expectations conducts regular evaluations and supports staff development through coaching training and career progression planning.
Fosters a collaborative and accountable work environment that encourages innovation professional growth and continuous improvement.
Manages team workloads and resource allocation to ensure timely and successful execution of complex high-impact airport projects.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Masters degree and 5 years relevant experience OR
Bachelors degree and 7 years relevant experience OR
Associates degree and 9 years relevant experience OR
High School diploma or equivalent and 11 years relevant experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors degree in data science computer science information technology or a related field.
10 years experience in data management analytics or related field with progressively increasing leadership responsibilities; 5 years of experience in a leadership role supporting data initiatives strategic planning operations or organization change.
Strong managerial presence with the ability to manage multi-faceted teams as well as influence leadership and drive collaboration.
Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing data strategies in large organizations.
Proven experience leading complex technology initiatives and cross-functional teams.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical and data concepts to a variety of stakeholders
Working understanding of Aviation-related regulations and security and funding requirements
Have an unbound imagination for creative problem solving across multiple areas and disciplines
