The Child Unit is a 20 bed unit for the multi-disciplinary assessment evaluation crisis intervention and stabilization of patients age 5-12 years. Discharge planning emphasizes movement to day hospital or outpatient care as soon as the crisis has been stabilized.
What to expect.
- Perform a full range of professional psychiatric nursing services including assessing planning administering and evaluating patient care in accordance with team treatment plans.
- Administer medical treatment as prescribed by physician.
- Teach and provide psychosocial support to patients and their families.
- Provide day-to-day clinical direction to assigned Mental Health Workers or other paraprofessional staff.
- Document and report patient progress to treatment team.

The pay range for this position is $36.00 minimum to $55.17 maximum. Pay for this position is determined on a number of factors including but not limited to years and level of related experience as a registered nurse.
What we need from you.
- Must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Maryland (or compact state) at time of appointment and continuously while in position.
- Experience in a psychiatric nursing setting preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of nursing-acquired through at least one year of inpatient RN experience; prior LPN inpatient experience will be considered with every one year of LPN experience equating to 6 months RN experience.
- All new clinical staff will begin their extended clinical orientation/training immediately following your first day of employment.
- AHA CPR required before first day of employment
