About the Role
As a Principal UX Designer youll play a pivotal role in defining the end-to-end experience across Opendoors products and services. Youll be a craft leader and thought partner to product engineering research and business stakeholderspushing the boundaries of design to deliver experiences that are both delightful and impactful. This role requires vision systems-level thinking and the ability to inspire teams to execute at a high bar of design excellence.
What Youll Do
- Elevate the quality of design thinking craft and execution across the team by owning and driving operating mechanisms like design reviews and customer experience reviews
- Mentor and coach more junior designers and help them develop and grow as they progress in their career
- Provide input and support to the VP of Design on recruiting and hiring talent development and team culture
- Lead design vision and strategy for complex high-impact initiatives across Opendoors customer and partner experiences.
Drive clarity in ambiguous problem spaces and simplify complexity into elegant solutions.
Partner with product managers engineers researchers and data scientists to align business goals with user needs.
Set a high standard for craft usability and accessibility across the design team.
Mentor and coach designers providing feedback and guidance that raises the bar across the org.
Influence product strategy with user-centered insights advocating for design thinking at the leadership level.
Contribute to the evolution of Opendoors design system ensuring consistency and scalability across products.
Represent design in executive-level forums driving alignment around customer experience outcomes.
What Youll Need
10 years of experience in UX/product design with a strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design leadership.
Experience shaping strategy and executing across multiple platforms (web mobile responsive).
Proven ability to tackle ambiguous problems and deliver impactful customer-facing experiences at scale.
Exceptional communication and storytelling skillsyou inspire teams and leaders alike.
A systems thinker who can zoom between strategy architecture and interaction-level details.
Experience working in fast-paced cross-functional teams ideally within consumer technology or marketplaces.
A passion for Opendoors mission and a drive to make complex processes simple and delightful.
Compensation
The base pay range for this positionis $238400-$298000annually plus RSUs and bonuses. Paywithin this range varies by work locationand may also depend on your qualifications job-related knowledge skillsand experience. We also offer a comprehensive package of benefits including unlimited PTO medical/dental/vision insurance life insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
