Introduction

Were looking for 2 detail-oriented Technical Inspector to ensure our properties meets the highest Decent Homes this key role youll inspect assess property conditions compile stock data information and identify maintenance needs. Your work will support our capital programme and provide essential technical assistance to the Housing Quality and Investment Team.

Youll also help assess properties for council leasing to support homeless families and assist with technical needs for our temporary accommodation and hostel programmes.

Whats the role

  • Carry out Stock Condition Surveys of council housing properties and other housing assets ensuring all findings are accurately recorded in the Asset Management system
  • Supervise works orders ensure cost control compliance with regulations and oversee quality throughout projects including defect rectification.
  • Conduct research provide technical analysis prepare evidence and documentation and represent the Council in legal or public proceedings.
  • Investigate property damage determine repair responsibilities prepare specifications and cost estimates and negotiate with owners or agents.
  • Maintain flexibility to meet the Council and customer needs stay updated with legislation and technology and assist with various housing service duties as required.

  • Ability to ensure work meets specifications regulations and safety standards

Location

The job is primarily based in Laurence House but we operate a hybrid approach where you will be required to work both in the office and from home on a regular basis.

Special conditions

  • Relevant recognised technical qualifications (building surveying or other related discipline.
  • The job is subject to a Basic DBS check

Salary

45852.00 - 47925.00 per annum (P02)

N.B: All appointments will be offered at the minimum spinal column point (SCP) for the grade of the role. The only exception to this will be when matching current salary (up to the maximum of the scale) which is subject to evidential proof.
