JOB DESCRIPTION

Futurail seeks a motivated Software Engineer to join our autonomy team. You will contribute to the development of real-time software systems that enable safe and efficient operation of autonomous trains. You will work alongside a collaborative team and gain exposure to a wide range of software development machine learning and robotics.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Implement and maintain software components for autonomous train control including localization mapping obstacle detection and collision avoidance.
Support the development of data processing pipelines for sensor inputs from LiDAR camera and radar including preprocessing feature extraction and storage.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prototype test and develop innovative software solutions.
Proactively identify and resolve challenges to drive the growth and enhance the success of both the team and the company

REQUIREMENTS

Proficiency in Python and a solid understanding of software development principles and best practices; C knowledge is a plus.
Familiarity with perception sensors (LiDAR camera or radar) or sensor fusion techniques
Exposure to robotics autonomy software stacks or rail/transportation environments
Knowledge of modern deep learning and machine learning architectures is a plus
Strong problem-solving skills pragmatism and a collaborative mindset.
