Job Summary:
The Multimodality Technologist supervised by a Radiologist performs imaging in two or more disciplines. At least 25% of their work focuses on advanced imaging areas such as CT MR Nuclear Medicine or Interventional Radiology (IR). This role involves working with ambulatory and hospital patients as ordered by a physician or licensed provider for diagnosing disease and injury following established protocols.
Responsibilities: - Perform diagnostic imaging procedures in two or more modalities (e.g. X-ray CT MRI Nuclear Medicine Interventional Radiology) according to established protocols and physician orders.
- Operate imaging equipment safely and effectively to produce high-quality images for accurate diagnosis.
- Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process answering questions and ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Position patients properly and ensure correct imaging technique to obtain the required views.
- Monitor and maintain imaging equipment performing routine quality control checks and reporting any malfunctions or safety concerns.
- Follow radiation safety guidelines to minimize exposure to patients staff and self.
- Assist radiologists and physicians by providing technical support during imaging procedures.
- Maintain accurate patient records document procedures and ensure compliance with regulatory and hospital policies.
- Participate in continuing education and training to stay current with advancements in imaging technology and practices.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure efficient patient flow and quality care.
Qualifications: Education:
- Graduate of an Accredited Program
Experience:
- Less than 1 Year of Experience
Certification/License/Registration (Required):
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) Certification
- CT Certification
- XR Certification (Radiography)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire or transfer
- Licensed by the State of Texas Medical Board as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) unless the role is MRI or Ultrasound
