About the role
Our Gisborne branch is looking for a hands-on Operations Supervisor to keep our people freight and processes running smoothly.
This is a leadership role with plenty of variety one moment youll be supporting the freight sorting team and courier contractors the next youll be overseeing safety checks or helping ensure freight is ready to roll out on time.
In this role you will:
- Oversee daily operations including freight sorting and shift coverage
- Carry out recruitment tasks interviews admin onboarding
- Lead appraisals and support training (induction manual handling misdirects etc)
- Manage Health & Safety activities site inspections accident/incident reporting training plans and meetings
- Complete contractor business reviews and uniform/vehicle checks
- Take care of key branch admin including scanning daily reporting and reception duties
- Assist with substitute driver processes and disciplinary actions alongside the Operations Manager (based in Napier)
- Liaise with contractors onsite for R&M quotes and permits to work
