Tintern Grammar is seeking a dedicated and experienced educator to lead as Head of Learning: Languages.

About the Role

The Head of Languages leads the teaching and learning of French and Chinese across the secondary school. The role requires an exceptional educator who can teach one of these languages to VCE level and inspire students to embrace the opportunities of language learning and intercultural understanding. This leadership position includes responsibility for guiding and supporting the Languages faculty leading curriculum and program development and fostering engagement with students parents and the broader community.

This is a part time (approximately 0.8 FTE) ongoing secondary French teaching position with the Position of Responsibility as Head of Learning: Languages offered for a limited tenure of 3 years effective from Term 1 2026.

About You

You will be able to demonstrate excellence in teaching along with strong leadership and management skills in supporting students with diverse learning needs. You will demonstrate as relevant

  • Current VIT registration
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications
  • Ability and experience to teach French to VCE level
  • Demonstrated experience in a leadership role or similar capacity
  • Strong leadership team management and mentoring skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students staff and parents
  • Capacity to manage resources programs and staff effectively
  • A commitment to innovation global engagement and the wellbeing of students
  • Desire to work collaboratively with colleagues and actively contribute to the broader life of the School
