Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Lead DevOps Observability Specialist to drive the design implementation and optimization of monitoring and observability practices across our cloud environments. The ideal candidate will be an expert in Prometheus Grafana CloudWatch and Elastic with a strong background in AWS services and cloud-native monitoring strategies. This role requires both technical leadership and hands-on expertise to ensure the reliability scalability and performance of our systems.
Responsibilities and Duties
Lead the strategy implementation and ongoing improvements of observability platforms and monitoring solutions.
Design deploy and manage monitoring frameworks using Prometheus Grafana AWS CloudWatch and Elastic (ELK).
Define and implement best practices for metrics collection logging tracing and alerting in AWS environments.
Partner with development SRE and DevOps teams to ensure system reliability availability and performance.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship on observability tools and practices.
Establish monitoring dashboards alerts and automated responses to proactively address incidents.
Continuously evaluate and adopt new observability tools and technologies to improve operational excellence.
Qualifications and Skills
8 years of experience in DevOps SRE or related roles with a focus on monitoring and observability.
Expert-level knowledge of Prometheus and Grafana for metrics and visualization.
Strong experience with AWS CloudWatch and Elastic (ELK stack).
Deep understanding of observability principles (metrics logs traces) and their application in distributed systems.
Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and cloud-native monitoring/alerting tools.
Proven ability to lead initiatives define observability strategies and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Excellent problem-solving troubleshooting and communication skills.
