What You Will Do:

As aManufacturing Test Development Engineering Section Manager youre responsible for leading a support team of technically trained Engineers with varying levels of engineering experience supporting development programs and products. Additionally youre a working manager who will also provide engineering support to programs from the early development phases through transition to production.

Your team consists of approximately 15 Engineers responsible for providing functional support and producibility expertise to programs. Your responsibilities will includecoachingand trainingengineers intheskills and processesnecessary for successfully accomplishing their mission. Responsibilities also include:

• Providing technical guidance and ensuring proper processes are followed
• Coordinating resources
• Managing team staffing levels
• Conducting interviews
• Department project ownership
• Providing input for strategic issues and plans for the department and programs
• Cross functional collaboration and coordinating with other sections
• Safety and performance development.

In addition to leading your team youll provide program technical support from the early development phases through transition to these instances youll leverage your technical knowledge of manufacturing capabilities product technologies factory requirements and business processes to establish and execute the manufacturing test strategy and influence technical program decisions in support of new product introduction as the manufacturing test authority within the program.

Overall responsibilities include:

• Employee coaching mentoring trainingand performance development
• Employee hiringand staffing
• Providing technical guidanceand problem solvingto employees and programs
• Providing Subject Matter ExpertiseinManufacturing Test regarding engineeringprocessesand proceduresthroughout the development lifecycle
• Developing influential relationships with internal customers
• Leadingstrategicimprovement projectsacross the department and programs

This job is posted as ONSITE and is based at Raytheons Tucson AZ facility.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically Requires a Bachelors degree in Science Technology Engineering or Math (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience working in manufacturing test production and/or development
• Experience leading teams or projects
• Ability to work on programs requiring special program access
• The ability to obtain and maintain a Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives Access (ATF) clearance
