  • This is a hybrid role requiring the successful candidate to attend our Tralee office.

Role Description

SMBC is seeking a Junior Full Stack Developer who is motivated and detail-orientedJunior Developer with experiencedeveloping web applications backends. The ideal candidate has a solid foundation inobject-oriented programming and database concepts a keen interest incloud technologies(especiallyMicrosoft Azure) understands software development lifecycle and has a desire to grow within a collaborative Agile development environment.

This role will report to the Executive Director of Corporate Banking Application Development

Role Objectives

  • Assist in the development of web (e.g. Spring Boot)/TypeScript ().
  • Support the design and implementation ofRESTful APIsand contribute tomicroservices-basedarchitectures.
  • Write clean maintainable code usingobject-oriented programmingprinciples.
  • Build responsive front-end interfaces usingHTML5CSS3JavaScript andTypeScript.
  • Work withSQLandNoSQLdatabases under guidance.
  • Participate inAgiledevelopment activities including stand-ups sprint planning and code reviews.
  • Contribute to cloud-native solutions usingAzure services.
  • Learn and assist withCI/CD pipelinesand container-based deployment usingDockerandKubernetes.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience developing web applications as a full stack development (internships or academic projects count).
  • Basic to intermediate proficiency inobject-oriented programming language ().
  • Good understanding of data structures and software design patterns.
  • Understanding ofRESTful APIsand interest inmicroservices architecture.
  • Familiarity withJavaScriptTypeScriptHTML5 andCSS.
  • Familiarity with databases ( Server orMongoDB).
  • Basic understanding ofAgile methodologiesGit andCI/CDconcepts.
  • Exposure toAzurecloud services or willingness to learn.
  • Willingness to learn and grow within a team environment.
  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate a self-motivated and disciplined approach to learning and working.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate leadership skills when needed.
  • Possess a highly developed sense of personal accountability and follow-through with an ability to effectively prioritize multiple personal tasks projects and goals.
