What Youll Be Doing
The Enterprise AI Governance Office (AIGO) within the Enterprise Advanced Analytics and AI Hub at CIBC is looking for an AI Governance Co-op. This team is responsible for ensuring that all AI activities in CIBC are governed in accordance with the Enterprise AI Framework and its associated processesand standards. AIGO leads the way within the organization in developing processes standards guidance and best practices for effectively managing AI related risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.In this role the co-op student will support CIBCs AI Risk management practices through conducting and reviewing AI risk assessments developing effective AI risk mitigation plans in partnership the business teams and other risk control groups and also assist in providing AI risk advisory services to the Enterprise.

You must be currently enrolled in post-secondary education and returning to full-time studies to be eligible. However you do not need to be in a registered Co-Op program to be considered for a role.

This is a 4-month co-op opportunity.
How Youll Succeed
Support the responsible and ethical use of AI for solving business problems- Work with business units to understand their AI Governance needs opportunities and pain points. Assist risk and control teams to ensure AI related risks are adequately managed. Assist in the development of AI risk management training and related educational resources both within the organization and externally.
Support in managing and delivering AI Solutions in a governed manner- Work with AI development technology and risk/control/compliance teams in identifying assessing and mitigating AI-related risks in accordance with AI risk management best practices tools and techniques to comply with governance requirements and accelerate CIBCs leadership in ethical and responsible use of AI.
Translate research to insights and support the decision-making process- Monitor research and report on the latest trends and developments around AI risk management. Help ensure that all AI risk management processes tools and techniques are inclusive of the requirements necessary to meet the growing demands and advancements in AI by suggesting and making changes to the current state.
Who You Are
You can demonstrate an interest in developing assessing and evaluating AI solutions. Knowledge of Predictive Modelling Machine Learning NLP Computer Vision and other AI disciplines is preferred. You are studying Data Science with knowledge in Linear Algebra Probability and Statistics Computer Science and/or Engineering.
You have knowledge or experience in developing and deploying AI or Machine Learning solutions using Python SAS or R with coding skills in SQL. Familiarity with Tableau would be an asset.
You are passionate about the responsible and ethical use of AI to benefit society. You enjoy conducting research developing processes and guidance and educating others on this important topic.
You can be clearly understood. You have very strong communication and presentation skills with a demonstrated ability to clearly and concisely present information to groups and individuals at all levels in the organization.
