THE ROLE
We are seeking a Junior/Mid-Level Platform Engineer to help us continue driving innovation and making an impact on the reliability performance and scalability of Farfetchs industry-leading technology. You must have a DevOps mindset and be passionate about automation scalability and infrastructure this role you will be co-responsible for the maintenance of several technologies that are crucial to the success of FARFETCHs business.
WHAT YOULL DO
- Design develop implement and manage cloud-native infrastructure and tooling that empowers our development teams.
- Contribute to building self-service capabilities abstracting complex infrastructure layers and promoting engineering autonomy.
- Operate and maintain a wide range of infrastructure components including Linux and Kubernetes-based systems using automated processes and pipelines.
- Contribute to our culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for increased scalability cost efficiency and reliability.
- Collaborate closely with other engineering teams to understand their needs and provide solutions that accelerate their productivity.
WHO YOU ARE
- Graduate or higher in Computer Science or a related technical discipline or have equivalent practical experience.
- A strong interest in designing analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
- Ability to develop using programming languages such as Python or Golang.
- Familiar with the principles of the software development lifecycle and the concepts of infrastructure-as-code.
- Familiar with CI/CD pipelines and comfortable working with related tools/technologies (e.g. Jenkins Git ArgoCD).
- Hands-on experience with containerized environments and container orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- A strong interest in one or more of the following domains:
- Cloud Infrastructure: Provisioning and Configuration Management (e.g. Azure Terraform Saltstack)
- Networking: Traffic Management Load Balancing CDN and DNS (e.g. HAProxy Kong CloudFlare Firewall)
- Software Development Lifecycle: Automating builds tests and deployments (e.g. Jenkins ArgoCD Artifactory)
- Have a security-first mindset and an interest in compliance achievement.
- Proactive creative and a great team player.
- Good written and verbal English communication skills.
