Join a team dedicated to protecting the safety and integrity of U.S. air travel. Peraton is seeking a Network Architectto join our team of qualified diverse individuals. The ideal candidate will design modern IP-based network architectures ensure scalability security and technical consistency and provide oversight of subcontractor activities to prevent design and integration issues. This is a critical opportunity to shape resilient future-ready network solutions that power mission-essential operations.Whether youre supporting safety validation efforts or leading teams on major FAA programs your work will directly impact the millions of passengers and aviation professionals who rely on safe efficient airspace operations every day.

In this position you will:

  • Design modern IP-based network architectures for enterprise and mission-critical environments.

  • Ensure scalability security and technical consistency across all network solutions.

  • Provide technical oversight of subcontractor activities to prevent integration or design issues.

  • Develop and maintain network standards documentation and reference architectures.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders engineers and program managers to align network solutions with business and mission needs.

  • Conduct capacity planning risk assessments and performance evaluations to optimize network performance.

  • Evaluate and recommend networking technologies and tools for future deployments.

  • Support incident response and troubleshooting efforts for complex network challenges.

  • Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in network design and security.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship Required.
  • Must have the ability to obtain / maintain a Public Trust clearance.
  • Bachelors degree and 16 years of experience or Masters degree and 14 years of experience or Associates degree and 18 years experience or HS diploma/equivalent and 20 years experience.
  • Proven experience in network architecture or engineering.
  • Proven expertise in IP-based network design including routing switching firewalls and VPN technologies.

  • Strong understanding of network security principles scalability planning and high-availability solutions.

  • Experience managing subcontractor or vendor performance on complex projects.

  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools QoS and troubleshooting methodologies.

  • Excellent analytical communication and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exposure to FAA programs or NAS systems.
  • Experience with FAA systems federal modernization programs or other critical infrastructure environments.

  • Certifications such as CCNP/CCIE JNCIE or AWS/Azure Networking Specialty.

  • Knowledge of cloud and hybrid network architectures (AWS Azure GCP).

  • Background in Zero Trust networking principles and SD-WAN technologies.

  • Familiarity with automation and Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g. Ansible Terraform).
