Job Description

Are you ready to help shape our financial department at GVG Join Gardner Vaughan Group as our new Financial Controller/Finance Manager and hit the ground running were seeking someone who can quickly understand the business has a strategic mindset but also the ability to be hands on when needed. Reporting directly to the CFO and being part of the Senior Leadership Team in this role you will see yourself working across all levels of the business.

With a 36-year reputation and continuing trajectory of growth building award-winning multi-residential apartments across Southeast Brisbane. Were ready to welcome a new team member who will help maintain our commitment to excellence.

About the Role

As our Financial Controller/Finance Manager youll provide comprehensive financial leadership while supporting our finance team to ensure GVGs financial health and strategic growth. This is more than just managing numbers its about being a key decision-maker who influences our companys future success in the construction industry.

Your Key Responsibilities:-

  • Financial Strategy and Planning
  • Financial Management and Reporting
  • Project Finance Support
  • Risk Management
  • Team Leadership Lead mentor and develop the finance team fostering a high-performance culture aligned with GVG strategic goals
  • System Development Drive finance system integration and continuous improvement across departments

What Were Looking For:-

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting Finance or related field
  • Relevant post-graduate qualification (CPA Chartered Accountant)
  • 5-7 years of professional experience in a commercial environment (construction or property industry experience highly regarded)
  • Strong financial acumen budgeting and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities
  • Experience with financial software and management systems
  • Strong ethical standards confidentiality accountability and integrity
