HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT
The Regional Trade Compliance Manager will join the Regional Product & Trade Compliance (PTC) team reporting to the Associate Director and work closely with PTC family from the Group Regional and Local teams. The role will be driving adherence to country-specific regulations for all imports/exports focus on leveraging skills and expertise in trade compliance controls such as product classification incoterms ruling licensing customs rules bonded and non-bonded related requirements and processes as well as documentation management. The role will work with key partners across different functions such as Retail Operation Retail Logistics Finance Compliance IT Legal Tax and Maisons compliance teams etc.
Responsibilities
- Monitor customs regulations timely assess potential impacts and communicate effectively with relevant stakeholders to determine the necessary actions to comply with the laws or regulations and mitigate the risk
- Oversee customs compliance across the region including customs valuations Certification of Origin validation HS codes classifications duty reduction CITES permits applications ATA Carnet utilizations etc.
- Communicate with government authorities brokers and internal stakeholders to resolve customs issues
- Support different projects by providing trade compliance oversights and recommendations on the supply chain flows and documents verification to comply with country-specific regulations and Group directives/policies
- Conduct trade compliance gap analysis for brand new market and new distribution flows
- Partner with relevant functions to ensure appropriate utilization of the GTS/SAP for various customs control subjects
- Conduct effective trade compliance training as required throughout the region and provide support to local teams to execute or transfer Group directives/policies into operational instructions
HOW WILL YOU EXPERIENCE SUCCESS WITH US
- Over 10 years of proven experience in trade compliance in the brand company consultant company or 3PL with sound background/expertise in customs regulations tax import/export regulations in APAC.
- In-depth knowledge of import/export e-commerce channels trade compliance customs rules products classifications AEO programs and familiarity with the regional customs practices etc.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously strong at problem-solving critical thinking and crisis management
- Extensive experience in close collaboration with customs and import/export control authorities and agencies
- Team player with cultural awareness and curiosity willing to work with other functions and Maisons from the group regional & local on joint initiatives projects and daily enquiries
- Can-do attitude self-motivated and detail oriented
- Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal in English and Chinese 3rd language in Asia is a plus
