SUMMARY
Works closely with the BSA Manager or designee to ensure that Sunwest Bank (Bank) customers are compliant with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) regulations and requirements; regulatory agencies requirements and expectations; and the Banks BSA/OFAC Policy. The BSA Analyst is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day monitoring reporting and control processes within the BSA department. This positionwill be actively engaged with the different BSA/OFAC processes and other departments within the Bank.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for assisting in day-to-day monitoring reporting and control processes within the BSA department.
- Responsible for the initial review of applicable Currency Transaction Reports (CTR) .
- Assist in conducting ongoing due diligence and enhanced due diligence (EDD) monitoring of high-risk customer relationships.
- Assist in conducting investigations from assigned cases or referrals received from branch staff.
- Ensuring compliance with Customer Identification Program (CIP) requirements.
- Reviewing the Banks watch list program (OFAC/314(a)/PEP) including uploading lists validating potential matches and reporting hits when applicable.
- Stays abreast of regulatory changes industry standards and best practices.
- Works closely with the BSA Manager to update the Banks BSA training programs Policies Procedures and Risk Assessments as necessary and appropriate.
- Serves as a point of contact for all BSA/OFAC-related matters including negative news potential matches on sanctions screening and unusual behavior raised by frontline staff.
- Escalate all matters mentioned above to the BSA Manager or BSA Officer if the items cannot be resolved.
- Attends training of BSA/OFAC and regulatory compliance matters.

- Attends training and maintains a basic knowledge of procedures to ensure compliance with laws and regulations governing financial institutions as they apply to your position and job responsibilities with an emphasis on the BSA/AML/OFAC Consumer Privacy Regulation CC Information Security FACT-Identity Theft Information Technology and GLBA.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Preferably a Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university or 1year of related banking experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong professional skills with emphasis on planning and organization.
