Job Summary

The Cato Institute seeks an Educator Engagement Specialist to join our growing Sphere on the Road team. The successful applicant will play a key role in the growth of Spheres work to bring Sphere to K-12 educators and administrators across the country. This individual will source manage and execute programming in support of Spheres mission to advance civic culture and civil discourse. Additionally the successful applicant will support annual Sphere Summits and other Sphere programming throughout the year.


While this position may be hybrid or fully remote it requires more than 50% travel and will primarily support Spheres work in the West and Southwest with preference for candidates based in those regions.


The projected salary range for this role is $65000 - $90000 per year. Compensation is based on the successful candidates educational background experience and skills.

Responsibilities

  • Represent Sphere at events and conferences.
  • Execute Sphere programming for schools districts and regional events across the country.
  • Lead professional development trainings for educators advancing civil discourse and the understanding of civic culture.
  • Identify opportunities to increase Spheres impact and partners to advance our mission.
  • Support alumni engagement activities.
  • Manage administrative and measurement responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements

Education and Experience

  • 5 years of experience in teaching and program management.
  • Experience as a grade 5-12 educator or administrator strongly preferred.
  • Experience teaching economics is a plus.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to libertarianism or classical liberalism consistent with the vision of the Cato Institute.
