Position Summary
The Commercial Insurance Rate and Form Filing Analyst serves as a vital liaison between the organizations product development team and state regulatory agencies ensuring that commercial insurance products are fully compliant with all applicable regulations. This role plays a key part in facilitating the successful approval and launch of new and updated commercial lines of insurance products.
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end process of preparing submitting and managing insurance product form and rate filings across multiple jurisdictions enabling the timely and efficient introduction of new insurance products to market.
- Evaluate and refine standardized procedures and workflows to support regulatory compliance and operational excellence. Complete accurate documentation and the processing of filings in alignment with internal standards while enhancing and maintaining filing and tracking tools to improve visibility into filing status and historical activity.
- Conduct research and analysis of regulatory requirements including state-specific laws rules guidelines and directives issued by Departments of Insurance (DOIs) to ensure filings align with current expectations and standards.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with business units and actuarial teams to develop review and refine rates rules and policy forms for a range of commercial insurance products including workers compensation commercial auto commercial property and general liability.
- Prepare and submit accurate complete and timely filings using the System for Electronic Rates and Forms Filing (SERFF) and other state-specific platforms contributing to efficient regulatory review and approval processes.
- Engage proactively with state insurance regulators managing communications responding to objections and negotiating approvals. Represent the organization professionally and constructively to support effective regulatory relationships.
- Monitor evolving insurance regulations laws and bulletins ensuring timely updates to filings to maintain full compliance and uphold consumer protection standards.
- Respond to data call requests and generate reports related to regulatory filings and market trends supporting strategic decision-making and regulatory transparency.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration or similar discipline; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Four or more years of experience in commercial property and casualty products and/or rate filings
- Ability to analyze retain and assimilate complex regulatory information
- Proficient in analysis problem solving and prioritization; ability to evaluate situations and make appropriate recommendations
- Skill in organizational and time management with attention to detail ensuring tasks and deliverables are executed with accuracy and precision
- Skill in verbal and written communication facilitating clear and effective exchange of complex regulatory concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to function independently as well as collaborate in a team environment with skill in interpersonal communication and the ability to multi-task
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite SERFF and other function specific applications
