The Infection Preventionist will be responsible for reporting and developing innovative strategies for preventing infections. This individual will partner with the entire system including hospitals clinics etc.

Duties: Infection Preventionist
Implement coordinate and evaluate the infection control process for designated in-patient and out-patient care areas to reduce the risk of infections in patients visitors and personnel. Identify investigate monitor and report instances of healthcare acquired infection. Educate colleagues on infection control and safety practices. Develop implement and evaluate the organizational infection prevention program. Lead quality assurance and performance improvement activities as they relate to patient safety facility safety and patient satisfaction.
Required Qualifications:Infection Preventionist
Minimum of three years infection control clinical health or laboratory related experience required.
Bachelors degree in nursing or other related scientific health fields (e.g. public health medical technology etc.) required.
Phone and computer literacy with data analysis interpretation required.
Effective oral and written communication skills including public speaking required.
Knowledge of individual and group behaviors required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon completion of unit orientation required must be from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program (effective for new hires starting January 1 2023 or later).
Preferred Qualifications: Infection Preventionist
Experience with health care related accreditation and regulatory agencies standards preferred.
Clinical research experience (e.g. trial design data collection and analysis) preferred.
Masters degree preferred.
Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Nebraska or current compact state license preferred.
Certification in infection control preferred.
