Job Summary

About the Role
As a Registered Nurse within our transit lounge you will facilitate the discharge of patients from the ward to home ensuring all required paperwork medications and transport is well co-ordinated.
The role is essential in ensuring flow through the organisation ensuring ward beds are available for in coming patients.

The Transit Lounge facilitates discharge and patient flow from the inpatient areas and Emergency Department. This service applies only to non-emergency patient transfers and discharges for patients in a stable condition.

Patients who arrive by ambulance for appointments at Outpatient Services will also be managed through the Transit Lounge on arrival and return. Your stay in the Transit Lounge is expected to be short term and patients may access light snacks beverages and meals at mealtimes during their wait.

You will bring to our high-performing teams:

  • Current AHPRA nursing registration
  • Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent
  • Proven clinical experience in an acute setting
  • Sound clinical decision making and problem solving skills
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills
  • Clinical expertise and passion for delivering quality patient-centred care
  • Self-motivated and proven ability to work as part of a high functioning team

If you are successful in the role you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope and NSWNMA/ANMF NSW Nurses and Midwives Enterprise Agreementa salary ranging from $35.46 - $49.79 per hour.

Applicants will be required to provide a current (12 months or less) National Police check and a NSW Working with Childrens Check prior to appointment and persons in patient contact roles will be required to provide proof of immunity to specified infectious diseases prior to commencement.
