Job Description
How Youll Help Transform Healthcare:
Velocity Care provides walk-in medical services for non-life threatening illnesses and injuries. Hours of operation are Monday- Sunday 8 a.m.- 8 is for the Westlake region. Other VC sites in other regions may be required as needed for business and patient care needs. Schedule flexibility required. EOW and rotating holidays required. A combination of 12/10/8 hour shifts will be required for this exempt full time position. Weekend/Evening/Holiday coverage will be required. Urgent Care experience highly desired. Emergency or other ambulatory experience preferred. Successful candidate should have a history of delivering outstanding patient care and a demonstrated dedication to providing an excellent patient and family experience.

As such PAs and NPs who have worked within Family and Community Medicine for at least 1 yearwill be scheduledto precept PA and NP students from our partnering programs.
What We Require:
Education:Graduate of an Accredited Nurse Practitioner Program or Physician Assistant Program.
Experience:One to three years experience preferred. Additional experience may be required for some specialties.
Licensure/Certification:Current state Licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant ( PA) and DEA license. AHA BLS-HCP certification required. Advanced Life Support certification preferred.
Other:Eligible for prescriptive authority in accordance with State regulations and as authorized by the Virginia Boards of Nursing and Medicine. Capable of meeting credentialing or job function requirements as needed based on the requirements of the practice and of managed care payors and insurers. Qualifies for malpractice insurance and is accepted by Carilion Clinics malpractice insurance carrier. Able to work collaboratively with physicians and other health care providers. Demonstrates good written and oral communication skills. Computer literacy required for automated computer systems including electronic medical records.
