Functional Business Analyst
About our client:
Our client is a leader in professional services and consulting providing a wide range of services including strategy consulting technology and systems integration and operations to a range of clients across Government Financial Services Utilities and more.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather analyse and document requirements.
- Break down large ambiguous problems into smaller well-defined tasksor use cases.
- Create process flows user stories functional specifications and other artifacts.
- Translate business needs into logical structured and actionable requirements.
- Work closely with developers testers and UX/UI teams to ensure accurate implementation.
- Facilitate workshops interviews and brainstorming sessions to uncover root causes.
- Perform gap analysis impact assessments and data analysis as needed.
- Support UAT (User Acceptance Testing) by preparing test cases and validating deliverables.
- Act as a liaison between business users and technical teams throughout the project lifecycle.
The successful candidate:
Candidates should be able to demonstrate the following skills:
- 35 years of experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar role.
- Strong logical thinking and analytical skills able to approach problems methodically.
- Excellent communication skills able to explain complex ideas simply.
- Experience in writing clear structured documentation(e.g. user stories use cases BRDs).
- Comfortable with process mappingtools (e.g. Griffy Visio).
- Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies.
- Exposure to low-code platforms (e.g. Appian Pega Power Platform).
- Experience working with Jira Confluence or similar tools.
- Knowledge of SQL or data analysis tools.
- Certifications like CBAP CCBA or Agile BA are a plus.
Whats on offer
This contract is available for an initial 6-month term with likely extension on a long-term project.
Located in Sydney this role offers a hybrid working arrangement.
