Key job responsibilities As a Software Development Engineer you will: - Design and develop creative solutions to complex engineering problems. - Own and deliver end to end key initiatives maintaining effective communication with management and stakeholders - Architect Design and developing high performance test-driven code. - Effectively mentor junior engineers helping to maintain appropriate code quality unit test coverage code documentation software structure and support.

Youll tackle a prioritized backlog of features improvements focusing on system performance and reliability. Youll participate in planning and engage in technical and architecture discussions. Your expertise will be crucial in translating stakeholder requirements into innovative technical solutions that propel our global retail checkout solution and services forward.
About the team The World Wide Grocery Store Tech (WWGST) Checkout Engineering team is a 2-Pizza team an agile group specializing in grocery technology. We manage global checkout technology for WWG stores. Our team uses our deep grocery and engineering expertise to deliver efficient compliant checkout experiences. Working closely with cross-functional partners we ensure efficient operations while continuously improving our systems. Our mission is to drive innovative solutions that enhance the Customer shopping experience.
- 4 years of non-internship professional software development experience - 3 years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - Experience programming with at least one software programming language - Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or related field or equivalent experience
- 3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
