Opportunity:
WEM has a rewarding opportunity for a Landscape Team Leader to join the team.
We have a strong portfolio of work with multiple projects underway across Sydneys Northwest and Southwest. This role requires travel to job sites across the area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute hard and soft scape works in accordance with project drawings and specifications.
- Understand a selection of tools plant and manpower needed to perform a task with accuracy and quality.
- Measure and quantify materials needed to execute a task.
- The installation or supervision of hardscape structures including pavement (sub-bases concrete A/C segmental units) stone features shelters street furniture fitness equipment irrigation systems playground installation including surface finishes and feature elements etc
- The installation or supervision of softscape elements including tree and shrub planting tree guards garden and turf soils turf installation organic and inorganic mulches and jute matting.
- Oversee direct reports machinery and the execution of landscape preparation installation and maintenance activities across parks residential estates and industrial subdivisions
- Operate small plant and equipment to execute tasks efficiently and to the highest standard.
- Ensure worksites are clean organised and operating smoothly
- Strictly follow safety regulations and statutory requirements including Local Council and EPA guidelines.
- Lead and mentor Landscape Tradespersons Labourers and Apprentices sharing expertise and fostering a skilled motivated team
We Are Looking For Someone Who Has:
- Relevant Certificate or Diploma in Landscaping or Horticulture or 5 years of experience in a similar role
- Previous leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of the construction industry and processes
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude toward teamwork
- Clear and effective communication skills
- Ability to guide and support Landscape Tradespersons Labourers and Apprentices in day-to-day tasks
- Strong commitment to health safety environment and quality standards
- Proactive with the ability to use initiative
- Construction White Card
- Valid Drivers Licence with flexibility to travel between job sites
