WHY WE NEED YOU...

This role leads our Callies Hot Little Biscuit Packing Team members partnering with our Baking TeamSealing Team and Management Team to work through the current order volume and Operations.

Position Summary:

As Shipping Manager you will supervise and coordinate the activities of packers and delivery drivers responsible for selecting product and preparing it for same day shipping via expedited delivery services. This position manages all packing and sealing employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within the department.

Primary Responsibilities:

Work on the floor with staff to ensure proper training and job knowledge

Interview hire train and manage new employees within department

Leading and working with team on the floor to increase productivity

Communicate with production manager and inventory manager to maintain inventory levels orders and ship datesfor wholesale and e-commerce orders

Study and standardize procedures to improve efficiency of systems and workers

Work in shipping portals to batch and print orders

Maintain stock rotation (first in first out) when receiving and shipping product

Communicate with Operations Manager to maintain inventory levels

Coordinate deliveries with driver

Order shipping materials

Receive and fulfill direct ship orders daily

Ensure all orders are packaged according to company standards and shipped in a timely manner

Track lot codes for orders

Maintain pallet packing logs

Assist with PO pick ups; building pallets for distribution

Work with customer service regarding issues with orders and reships

Manage wholesale orders set a timely schedule

Monitor food safety compliance for third party audit within shipping department

Other duties as assigned

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

High School Diploma; some collegepreferred

Proven leadership abilities

Must be able to drive a forklift and a box truck

Ability to promote a culture of gratitude

Microsoft Office Google Platform experience

Shopify and Ship Station knowledge is a plus but not required

Impeccable attention to detail

Ability to communicate effectively

Creative approach to problem solving

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A FULL-TIME SHIPPER PACKER

Love for biscuits and other Southern specialties
Shipping packing experience preferred
