Job Summary
PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR
Caribbean Food Delights (CFD) -Leading the Frozen Jamaican Food Industry
Caribbean Food Delights (CFD is the largest manufacturer of Jamaican Style Patties in the US -beef chicken and vegetable- distributed nationwide through major retailers club stores and foodservice channels. Our state-of the-art SQF certified facility powers a brand recognized for quality innovation and growth. We are seeking a hands-on results focused Production Supervisor and team player with minimum three (3) years of related work experience in Food Production to assist in the day-to-day efficient management and supervision of the plants production processes and employees for the varied shifts.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
- Supervise and participate in all phases of production i.e. pre/post-operation make-up packaging and preparation for the cleaning process as necessary; move from area to area to ensure that all work in progress and the various processes are carried out efficiently.
- Ensure that HACCP GMPs and other food safety practices are being followed daily
- Maintain appropriate plant sanitation safe working conditions and proper food handling practices and procedures in the plant; ensure that all plant equipment is properly washed sanitized and ready for each days production.
- Check and verify machine controls for accuracy and performance daily.
- Interact with mechanics to ensure that all equipment are in proper working condition at all times and schedule necessary repairs.
- Set up working systems which minimize the loss of packaging materials during the production process.
- Supervise production staff; assist in training and motivating employees as required.
- Communicate with peers and/or senior management regarding major production decisions.
- Perform any other related duties.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:
Associates Degree or Certificate in Food Service Management Food Science or equivalent
3-5 years experience in USDA facility
Knowledge of SQF GMPs HACCP SOP SSOP Pest Control Programs USDA & FDA regulations
Knowledge of Microsoft Word Excel and data entry software
Good communication and customer service skills.
