About the Role
The primary purpose of the Environmental Services Worker position is to perform various tasks to
maintain a clean safe and sanitary environment at University Hospital.
Responsibilities
What Youll Do
- Keeps patient and non-patient areas of the facility clean safe and orderly condition.
- Cleans hospital patient rooms baths showers laboratories offices corridors lobbies lounges restrooms elevators stairways locker rooms and other areas as assigned using approved cleaners and hospital approved germicide.
- Strips linen from beds washes beds and mattresses using hospital approved germicide remakes beds after discharge.
- Dusts furniture and equipment empties waste baskets trash recycling and medical waste containers washes walls ceilings woodwork windows door panels and sills polishes metalwork such as fixtures and fittings.
- Sweeps scrubs waxes and polishes floors using required products and equipment.
Qualifications
What Youll Bring
Required:
- Ability to read write speak understand and communicate in English sufficiently to carry out the duties of the position; prior experience in institutional environmental services is preferred.
Compensation (NJ Job Transparency Law)
In compliance with New Jerseys Pay Transparency Act the hourly rate for this position is $17.63 - $18.67.
