The One-on-One Paraprofessional will report to the Principal and will complete but is not limited to the following duties:
- Acts as a mandated reporter for the purposes of ensuring the safety of the student
- Monitors the students activities assignments and/or materials under the direction of the supervising teacher for the purpose of supporting and reinforcing classroom objectives and meeting learning goals
- Administers tests homework makeup work etc. for the purposes of communicating progress or implementing objectives
- Communicates with supervising instructional staff and administration for the purpose of communicating progress or implementing objectives
- Escorts student (e.g. bathroom classroom community etc...) for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and safe arrival to and/or from a destination
- Implements under the supervision of the assigned teacher research-based interventions for the purpose of the presenter and/or reinforcing learning concepts
- Intervenes in potential conflicts utilizing appropriate approaches for the purpose of diffusing confrontations and minimizing disruptions
- Maintains instructional materials and/or manuals and files or electronic records for the purpose of ensuring availability of items providing written reference; and/or meeting mandated requirements documentation etc.
- Monitors students daily schedule and learning plan for the purpose of maintaining a safe and positive learning environment
Requirements
- High School Diploma College Degree highly preferred
- Valid New Jersey Instructional Substitute Certification
- Experience working within a school in a similar environment or related role with children
