Engineering Intern

Internship Dates: Full-Time for approximately 12 weeks (May August)

Asan Engineering Intern you will: Gain knowledge and understanding of the business through hands on activities coaching and projects. A few learning opportunities include:

• Work with corporate engineering staff for installation of process equipment within Harvest facilities.
• Develop understanding of production processes within Beef Harvest Ground Beef and Value Add facilities.
• Develop understanding of production flow and major pieces of equipment within facilities
• Provide technical input into optimizing and modifying existing production processes to improve efficiency and reduce labor.
• Develop basic understanding of plant maintenance practices
• Develop understanding of utility and waste treatment systems such as hydraulics potable water systems compressed air steam generation and waste water.
• Develop knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems along with PSM/RMP requirements.
• Develop understanding of PLC controls flow meters and other methods of controlling essential processes within production facilities.
• Gain understanding of high voltage electrical power systems and safety procedures associated with systems.
• Work with outside construction and engineering consultants on current capital projects.
• Provide Weekly Activity Status report.
• Maintain reliable attendance.
• Maintain confidentiality.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

• Must have completed your Junior year at a credited College or University
• Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Have the desire and ability to work well both independently and cross functionally
• Are willing to engage others through strong communication and leadership skills
• Are an inquisitive individual that has a desire to gain knowledge through experience
• Ability to perform all duties required in both office and manufacturing environments wearing proper PPE
• Have reliable transportation to and from working location
