Job Summary

Summary

Designed to help students understand Buckles retail business this internship provides an opportunity to study the overall buying process in a team environment. The Buying Intern will contribute to the business while gaining on the job experience.

Application review will begin on this date. Applications will continue to be accepted until 10/31/2025. If additional internship positions become available after this date they will be open for applications in the Spring.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
This description intends to describe the general nature and level of work performed by Teammates assigned to this job. It is not intended to include all duties responsibilities and qualifications.   • Utilize an understanding of the Buckle image philosophy and goals to promote the image to Guests and Teammates.
  • Assist with correspondence with vendors.
  • Assist with all steps of the buying process including: the fit process vendor communication report generation and dissemination product development product reviews purchase orders and the approval process.
  • Organize and file buying related documents.
  • Assist with the preparation and follow-up for the selection of product and the placing of buys for a variety of categories.
  • Fulfill mission statement by performing job duties with a high level of customer service while contributing to a positive team spirit.
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience

Currently pursuing an Associate or Bachelors degree from a four-year college or university. Buckle sales floor experience preferred but not required.

While performing the duties of this Job the Teammate is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger handle or feel and talk or hear. The Teammate is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop kneel crouch or crawl. The Teammate must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Ability to operate a motor vehicle and complete errands based on business needs.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job the Teammate regularly works in an office setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
