Job Title: High School Parking Lot Security Attendant
Reports to: Principal
Dept./School: Dayton High School
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The High School Parking Lot Security Attendant plays an essential role in maintaining a safe and orderly campus environment. This position is responsible for monitoring school parking areas directing traffic and serving as the first point of contact for parking-related questions or concerns. The High School Parking Lot Security Attendant communicates with administrators and law enforcement officers as needed and ensures compliance with district safety and security procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Prior experience in security traffic control or a related field preferred.
Ability to remain alert and respond appropriately in emergency situations.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Professional demeanor with the ability to interact effectively with students staff parents and community members.
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Special Knowledge/Skills
Experience in working with school-age children
Knowledge about the workings of a school system
Able to work effectively with students and/or parents
Assist students and parents during regular and/or irregular hours
Knowledge of school security protocols
Valid Texas Drivers License
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Monitor and patrol school parking lots to promote safety and deter unauthorized activity.
- Direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic during arrival dismissal and school events.
- Enforce district parking rules and regulations consistently.
- Maintain regular radio communication with administrators and school resource officers.
- Report suspicious activity unsafe behavior or imminent threats immediately.
- Assist visitors staff and students with parking or traffic-related inquiries.
- Complete incident reports and other required documentation.
- Support high school event operations requiring parking and traffic management.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Maintaining emotional control under stress high stress and fast-paced situations; Strenuous walking standing and climbing; ability to operate a motor vehicle; specific hearing and visual requirements. Work outdoors in varying climate conditions; Drive in different areas of the district; Ability to communicate verbally and in writing and ability to instruct.
