The Alaska Department of Fish and Game Division of Subsistence is recruiting for a College Intern 1 located in Fairbanks!
What you will be doing:
The College Intern I position with the Division of Subsistence provides technical accounting support and is responsible for performing a variety of interesting and challenging accounting and administrative tasks. Under general supervision these duties include assisting higher level administrative staff with preparing and coding invoices for payment processing travel documents monthly reconciliation of project accounts data entry credit card account reconciliation processing timesheets and performing routine office support functions.

The mission of the Subsistence Section is to scientifically gather quantify evaluate and report information about customary and traditional uses of Alaskas fish and wildlife resources. This position plays a critical role in that mission by increasing understanding of administrative and accounting procedures that support the Divisions research and regulatory role.

We provide flexible scheduling to coincide with your school schedule within our hours of operation (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday) up to 20 hours per week. During school breaks and in the summer this position can work full-time (Up to 40 hours per week). Wage is $19.58 per hour.
Our office is located right next to Creamers field in the remodeled bunk house which gives the opportunity to have lunch time walks on the beautiful grounds and trails in the summer and skiing skating and other winter activities in the winter.
The Subsistence administrative section is a six-person team committed to providing exceptional customer service. The working conditions you can expect:
The position is located in Fairbanks and works in a friendly supportive and dedicated office environment. The Alaska Dept. of Fish & Games office buildings are located on the Creamers Field Migratory Waterfowl Refuge. Work is conducted independently but with the support and general supervision from the administrative staff located in the same general office space. Possibility of a hybrid telework once fully trained. Working hours can be flexibly scheduled between 8:00 and 5:00 pm Monday - Friday.
