About the Role:

The Senior Underwriter position offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to elevate their skills within our dynamic and progressive organization. As a pivotal member of our team you will play a key role in driving the achievement of our objectives for profitability growth service excellence and producer relations specifically focusing on Casualty products within Germany.

Your main responsibility will be to act as a senior technical underwriter bringing your extensive expertise in Casualty products to assess risks and make informed decisions that align with our strategic goals. Your ability to analyze complex underwriting data identify potential opportunities and mitigate risks will be instrumental in our continued success and expansion.

Building strong and lasting relationships with major customers and brokers is another critical aspect of this role. Your excellent interpersonal and communication skills will help you foster trust understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions that exceed expectations. By proactively engaging with stakeholders you will contribute to the growth of German Liability portfolio.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Casualty Underwriting Expertise: Demonstrated significant experience in Casualty underwriting along with a strong technical knowledge of the German Casualty business. Your expertise in assessing risks analyzing data and making informed decisions will be fundamental to the role.

  • Market and Product Knowledge: Keep up to date with industry trends competitor profiles and product offerings.

  • Relationship Building: Strong relationship-building skills fostering positive connections with both internal team members and external partners.

  • Leadership Abilities: Exhibit strong leadership qualities providing a clear vision and strategy for the team to achieve collective goals.

  • Staff Development: Competence in managing mentoring and motivating staff. You will play a pivotal role in enhancing the skills and competencies of team members through adequate training and development initiatives.

  • Strategic Thinking: Proven ability to identify opportunities and threats by conducting comprehensive analyses of current and future trends in the insurance market.

  • Relationship Management: Skilled in developing and nurturing relationships with key brokers and clients.

  • Negotiation Skills: Excellent negotiation abilities to secure advantageous terms and agreements with clients brokers and other stakeholders.

  • Risk Management: Comfortable taking calculated risks that lead to favorable outcomes while maintaining a keen understanding of risk assessment and mitigation.

  • Professional Insurance Qualifications: Possession of relevant professional insurance qualifications demonstrating your commitment to continuous learning and staying up-to-date with industry best practices.

  • Compliance Management: Ensure adherence to all internal and external management and regulatory controls maintaining a high level of compliance within the organization.
